Year Round Lake Tahoe Vacation Ideas
Lake Tahoe, the 2nd deepest lake in the United States, with a depth of 1,645 feet, extending 22 miles long and 12 miles wide, is an extraordinarily beautiful site to see, and a drive around the lake would make a most pleasurable day-trip at any time of the year.
Along with its beauty, comes the mystery and legends of sea creatures such as Tahoe Tessie, a mythical 15 to 60 foot hump-backed sea serpent, frightening to some, but lovable to the locals who know of her origin. Legend tells the story of Tessie as a friendly sea monster, waving to the children on shore as she guards the waters and the community from impending danger.
Although no proof exists to substantiate this sea creature, many sightings have been reported over the years and Tessie continues to be an entertaining and imaginative part of local history.
